Call & set up an appointment with one of StemCyte's cord blood educators to enroll. The intended parents pay for the service and have exclusive rights to the stem cells.

NOTIFY SURROGATE AGENCY

The agency can help facilitate coordination between the cord blood agency, parents, and surrogate as needed.

GESTATIONAL SURROGATE SIGNS THE CONSENT

The gestational surrogate must provide consent for the collection of her blood sample to test for infectious diseases.

RECEIVING THE KIT

We will ship out the collection kit to the gestational surrogate.

INFORM THE DOCTOR

Remind surrogate to advise her OB-GYN or midwife about your plan to save the cord blood and tissue so they are aware of it.

SURROGATE BRINGS THE KIT TO HOSPITAL

On the day of her delivery, bring the cord blood collection kit with her to the hospital.

CORD BLOOD COLLECTION
After the gestational surrogate's safe delivery after the umbilical cord is cut away from your baby, the doctor will collect the cord blood and cord tissue using the provided kit.

CALL MEDICAL COURIER FOR PICK UP

After sealing the kit, call 866-389-4659 within 2 hours for courier pick-up.

CORD BLOOD SHIPPING

The courier will then pick up the kit from hospital and deliver the kit to the StemCyte Baldwin Park California Lab.

INITIAL PROCESSING NOTIFICATION

After the initial processing. You will receive a notification by email.

CORD BLOOD PROCESSING

As soon as the cord blood kit is received at the lab, initial processing will be performed immediately.

CORD BLOOD & TISSUE CERTIFICATION 

The cord blood and cord tissue certificate will be emailed to you within 8-12 weeks and your baby's cord blood will remain frozen in our storage facility lab until needed for transplant.
